Homebuyer Education, Financial Management and Home Maintenance Classes Homebuyer Education, Financial Management and Home Maintenance Classes are required of all applicants of the Homebuyer Assistance Program. These classes are recommended for all applicants and are also available to the general public. Providing this service to applicants, especially those who do not immediately qualify for mortgage financing helps broaden the pool of prospective homeowners by allowing families access to the information necessary for them to purchase on their own or utilize our services once their financial situation has improved.
Classes are held at the Newaygo County Community Services (NCCS) Building at 6308 S. Warner, Fremont. Classes are offered to ensure quality affordable housing for low-moderate income families. Prepurchase Classes 1 & 2
- Are you ready to purchase? Advantages/disadvantages, working with a
realtor and/or lender, budgeting, affordability, credit reports.
Required for Homebuyer Program. Financial Management 1-2-3-4 - Resume writing, job searching, setting goals, budgeting, credit repair, savings, investments, insurance, debt to income, the mortgage process, foreclosure prevention, basic home maintenance. Required for FSS and IDA participants and for Homebuyer Program. Home Maintenance Classes 1-2-3-4 - Contact Sandy for schedule. You must pre-register. Required for Homebuyer Program. Home Owner Retention Class Have you experienced a decrease in income? Are you unable to make your house payment? Are you behind on your property taxes? Are you considering refinancing?
