Financial Management and Home Maintenance Classes

Home Owner Orientation and Education, Financial Management and Home Maintenance Classes are required of all applicants of the Homebuyer Assistance Program.  These classes are recommended for all applicants and are also available to the general public.  Providing this service to applicants, especially those who do not immediately qualify for mortgage financing helps broaden the pool of prospective homeowners by allowing families access to the information necessary for them to purchase on their own or utilize our services once their financial situation has improved.

• Home Buyer Education Pre-Purchase Classes -  This class covers budgeting, record keeping, credit issues, financing options and household maintenance.

• Financial Management Classes -  Focuses on spending and budgeting choices, planning, credit repair, predatory lending, how to get mortgage ready, banking and consumer services. 

• Home Maintenance Classes - Learn how to maintain and repair your home using hands on techniques...

• Foreclosure Prevention Class Have you experienced a decrease in income? Are you unable to make your house payment? Are you considering refinancing? Have you been taken advantage of by a predatory lender? Are you facing imminent foreclosure? Learn how to work through these situations in order to prevent losing your home to foreclosure. Learn about the many work out options available to you.

           Classes are held at the Newaygo County Community Services (NCCS) Building

at 6308 S. Warner, Fremont.
