Required Documentation The following documentation is collected for each eligible applicant: Application form -- Applicants are required to complete a basic Family Profile application form that will provide a summary of demographic, household and employment information, as well as income sources and past housing references. This information provides an overview of the applicant and a broader basis to determine eligibility. Verification Forms -- CNH requires Authorization to Release information, income Verification and Employment Verification forms. CNH mails out verification forms after preliminary eligibility has been determined. Credit Reports -- CNH will utilize a credit reporting agency to provide tri-merged credit reports. CNH Staff will analyze minimum credit thresholds and/or credit scores listed above to determine program eligibility and recommend a mortgage product. The established credit and debt guidelines for CNH's Homebuyer Assistance Program allows greater control of HOME grant dollars through an objective selection process. This also helps CNH steer applicants away from non-conforming/predatory mortgage lending and require applicants to take responsibility for their credit. The desired outcome is to help low income families avoid a difficult financial situation by recommending the best possible mortgage. Monthly Budgets -- Applicants must complete a monthly budget documenting existing line item expenses and projected line item expenses utilizing affordable housing payments. This information not only gives CNH a clear understanding of the financial preparedness level of an applicant for homeownership, it is also a financial tool an applicant can utilize to become more informed about managing their finances.
